Apart from the US trip itself I am absolutely on edge to see and receive the custom Driver I recently ordered through Larry White at Gato Heroi, Capistrano Beach. I'm bringing a board to Norway and the $200 airline fee to get a board from Oz to the US was enough of an excuse to put down $1,000 for a board I've been daydreaming about for the last I can't remember.
To keep costs down (according to the Gato Heroi board estimator) I am just going with one colour. I actually asked Larry to make the deck sand rather than the bottom and with no colour samples anywhere to be found it's going to be a bit of a surprise how it looks!
Review of the board to come, though I was lucky enough to board swap my Mctavish Neo-Step with a Driver out in 3 ft. Manly a few weekends ago and am still smiling. Super fast and smooth rail to rail with nice drive off the bottom (with compliments from the big flex fin I'm sure). It felt like the perfect cross between my Mctavish and Takayama Double Ender. Should be the perfect one board quiver :)
Soon to be mine Driver specs: 9'5" x 16.5" x 21" x 13.4" x 3".
