We stayed at the Riviera hotel for less than $30 a night each but it's right down the boring end of the strip. If you can afford to stay around the better hotels like the Bellagio or Ceasar's I'd highly recommend it. It's a long walk back to the Riviera at the end of the night and cabs take forever due to traffic (lining up and on the street).

I felt I needed more money to enjoy Vegas better. I'd take the beaches in CA any day of the week.
