Stayed at the Adelaide Hostel and for less than our budgeted $30/night each we had a nice room in their location across the street. Our stay included a great breakfast (fruit, cereal, bagels) and even a free spaghetti dinner one night!

We spent our first day on rental bikes circling the city via Lombard Street, The Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park and Haight St (cool shops and a younger scene).

Day 2 was the Alcatraz tour. It's an audio tour with real guard and prisoner interviews, sound effects and directions through the prison. We did the early bird tour but apparently the night tour is supposed to be the pick. Nevertheless I would have paid much more for the enjoyable experience it was.

All in all SF was a beautiful city with lots of great things to do day and night.
