Aiken, SC

So Henri has a friend from Aiken that she met while she was in Aus. He played up Aiken to be a tiny town with nothing to do so we were expecting tiny. Apparently Aiken is a big small town with approximately 100,000 people in and around so there's lots to do. We only stopped in for one night as  we do have a lot to get through before dropping the car off on the 10th, but there's a few days worth of stuff to do.

Downtown is really nice and there's a cool microbrewery that has a great ring toss drinking game we will definitely be bringing to Norway. The pizza place around the corner also has nice food and a little bar section.

During the day we visited what is one of the larger inner city forests, Hitchcock Woods. There are numerous sand trails to wander around and to accommodate the horse riding population there are lots of great jumps. It's heaven for riders in there. Of course there is wildlife in the forest and on our walk we heard a deer and saw two fox squirrels. The coolest squirrels I've seen. No photos as I only carry my 24mm lens with me.

Hitchcock Woods.
